 (Today is the Feast of the Guardian Angels)

Lord, I could use a few angels!

Send me angels - I'll welcome them, Lord - 

    to stand by my side, by night and by day,

    to guide me along the path of your truth 

    and guard me wherever I go...

 

Send me some angels, Lord,

   with courage and strength for when I'm afraid,

   with wisdom and counsel for when I'm confused,

   with knowledge to show me what's right and what's wrong...

Send a flight of angels, Lord,
   with the gift of right judgment to guide my discernment,
   with wonder and awe to lift up my prayer,
   with desire to draw me to seek what is true...

Send down choirs of angels, Lord,
   with a spirit of reverence to humble my pride,
   with kindness disposing my heart to serve others,
   with gentleness shaping my words and my deeds...

Assign your angels to fill me, Lord,
   with peace - when anger spoils my spirits,
   with joy - when sorrows flood my soul,
   with love - when selfishness shrinks my heart...

Send an army of angels, Lord,
   to keep me faithful when I am tempted,
   to keep me pure when I'd settle for less,

   to keep me resolved when I'm facing hard times...

Angels, Lord!
    I need angels with me, night and day,

    angels to guide me along the right path

    and angels to guard me wherever I go...

 

And open my heart to all those angels 

who cross my path every day,

family, friends, neighbors and strangers:

    generous angels, ready to help me,

    quiet angels, behind the scenes,

    friendly angels who lift my spirits,

    compassionate angels who share my tears,

    healing angels with gentle hands,

    loyal angels who have my back,

    comforting angels who share my sorrow,

    wise angels who speak the truth,

    faithful angels who pardon my faults

    and unknown angels who come and go

        and grace my life with peace...

 

Send me angels, Lord - I'll welcome them - 

    to stand by my side, by night and by day,

    to guide me along the path of your truth 

    and guard me wherever I go...

All times hear me sing 

about the holy angels always watchin’ over me.

my Lord!
