On Sundays, Night Prayer will focus on an element from the day's celebration of Mass. On this feast of Christ the King, our prayer flows from the closing song at the mass I celebrated today:

Because it was the feast of Christ the King
we sang of seeing you, Lord

Because it's almost Advent

Because Christmas is but a month away

Because you judge with grace and mercy

Because we welcome your sweet healing

Because we put our hope and trust in you

Protect us, Lord, while we're awake

Amen.
Tonight's song is a favorite of mine - I hope it will
be sung at my funeral. This fine choral arrangement
