My friend's clematis, Lord,
offer proof of your existence:
their delicate design,
their unassuming brilliance
and their humble imitation
of the splendor of your beauty...
If such is found, disclosed
in the petals of a flower
then that much more are you revealed
in everyone I know,
every man and every woman
made in your own likeness
and created in your image...
Help me, help us, be mirrors, Lord,
refracting through our brokenness
the luster of your light
shining brightly and unveiling
the spectrum of your glory
in our fragile, finite lives...
