Pause for Prayer: SUNDAY 9/21

This morning's prayer is a little different and very simple.  First, a wonderful story that ends with a wonderful quote... then a question to begin praying...
At 2 AM on a quiet Tuesday in Charleston, South Carolina, a desperate 13-year-old boy did something unthinkable—he called 911, not for an emergency, but because he couldn't take another night on a deflated air mattress in an empty room.

When Officer Gaetano Acerra arrived, expecting trouble, he found something else entirely: a kid who'd run out of hope. The boy's grandmother was doing her best, but after taking him in, there simply wasn't money for furniture or comfort.

Most officers would've filed a report and moved on. Not Acerra. The 15-year veteran couldn't shake the image of that bare room and defeated young face.
Three days later, Acerra returned—not with handcuffs, but with a pickup truck overflowing with surprises. A real bed with fresh sheets. A desk and chair for homework. Lamps, decorations, and yes—a Nintendo Wii, because "every kid needs something to look forward to."

The transformation was instant. Four bare walls became a teenager's sanctuary. But the real magic? Watching a boy who'd given up suddenly light up with possibility.

When reporters asked why he'd spent his own money and time, Acerra just shrugged: "I've got kids too. Sometimes you just know what's right."

There have been times, Lord,
when I've known, too
what would be  just right...

What would be just right
    to do,
    to say,
    to share,
    to give,
    to make a difference
        - that would be just right...

Is there something in my life right now, Lord,
    something just right,
something I might do
    today or tomorrow,
        this week or sometime soon?

Whatever it might be, Lord,
    - and I'm confident there's something -
let me see it, let me know it
help me do it, help me say it,
help me share it, help me give it
help me make a difference, Lord,
        that would be just right...

Amen.
