Lord, open my thoughts
to the truth I encounter today...
Open my heart
to truth that's hard to face...
Open my eyes
to the truth I often miss...
Open my conscience
to the truth I have betrayed...
Open my mind
to the truth that's hard to comprehend...
Open my self-concern
to the truth of others' needs...
to the truth of others' needs...
Open my frugrality
to the truth my abundance...
Open my ears
to the truth when I hear it...
Open my mouth
to speak the truth I know...
Open my will
to the truth I refuse to accept...
Open my path
to the truth I try to avoid...
Open my choices
to the truth of fairness...
Open my decisions
to the truth of justice...
Open my soul
to the truth of your love for me...
Open my soul to your truth, Lord,
to the whole of your truth
and nothing but your truth:
the truth that truly sets me free...
Amen.
Peace be with you Pastor. Your prayer spoke right to my heart and soul. It was like an examination for my conscience. Humbling. It also reminded me of my daily Prayer before the Cross by St. Francis of Assisi: Most high glorious God enlighten the darkness of my hearten and give me true faith, certain hope, perfect charity, sense and knowledge that I may carry out your Holy and True command.
